Buick is now offering Android Auto via software a update to U.S. Owners who purchased a 2016 model year Regal or LaCrosse model equipped with an eight-inch IntelliLink system. Enter your VIN and click the 'Get CAL ID' button. From the next screen select 'PCM/VCM Powertrain/Vehicle Control Module', then click the Next button at the bottom right. You will see any available updates for your GM vehicle. Each choice next to 'Module:' is clickable. Look for either of the following (steps may vary by vehicle):. Under the 'System' tab, go to the 'Vehicle Software' section and look for 'Updates.'. Choose 'Software Information' and then look for 'System Update.' Apple CarPlay TM† compatibility is the smarter way to use your iPhone in your Buick vehicle. Access Apple Music and Apple Maps, make hands-free phone calls, send messages and more using your vehicle's touchscreen or with your voice through Siri. Apple CarPlay compatibility is available only with select Buick models.

IntelliLink® Desktop is a Windows application that keeps your Pitney Bowes software products current with the latest software and data file updates. Available updates display on the IntelliLink Desktop user interface. From there, you can download and install them on your system.
To install IntelliLink Desktop you need:
- Broadband internet connection (such as cable or DSL)
- 1 GB of available hard drive space

Chevy Android Auto for 8″ Screens Upgrade in 30 Minutes
Chevrolet dealers now have the software to update eight-inch MyLink systems with Android Auto capability in select 2016 model year vehicles. The update is only available through Chevrolet dealers.
Owners of 2016 model year Chevrolet vehicles that qualify for the software update will receive a communication from the brand on how to receive the update at no cost. The update is expected to take approximately 30 minutes.
'We are working with our dealers to make the software update as quick and easy as possible to minimize any inconvenience to our owners,' said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet.
Chevrolet models with the seven-inch MyLink system already include both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability and therefore do not require any update. Apple CarPlay has been integrated with both the seven-inch and eight-inch MyLink systems in select vehicles since the start of the 2016 model year.
2016 model year Cruze sedans with compatible MyLink systems will arrive in dealer showrooms with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability installed and will not require the software update.
